Alexandra Seastrunk LMFT - Therapist for those experiencing grief, parental loss, breakups, and anxiety

About Alex

I became a therapist out of a deep curiosity about the inner world—and a personal understanding of how painful and disorienting life can sometimes feel. My own lived experience with the kinds of struggles I now support others through has shaped the way I listen, relate, and hold space.

I practice from a depth-oriented perspective, which means we’ll explore not only current concerns, but also the unconscious patterns, early relationships, and symbolic layers that shape your emotional experience. This approach values complexity, meaning, and the wisdom that can emerge when we turn inward with curiosity.

My style is warm, intuitive, and thoughtful. While I bring clinical training and perspective, I don’t see myself as the expert on your life. My role is to help you slow down, reflect, and begin to hear your own voice more clearly.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and questions of self-worth. Over the past decade, I’ve worked in a variety of clinical settings—from substance use treatment and college mental health to group private practice—supporting individuals through a wide range of emotional challenges.

Education

I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

A Little More About Me

Outside of my work as a therapist, I value a slower pace of life. I’m an introvert who finds joy in books, music, and good films. I feel most grounded in nature—whether near the ocean or riding on the back of a motorcycle through California’s winding roads with my partner. I live with my partner and our beloved cat, and I believe there’s something quietly healing about the small, ordinary pleasures of daily life.
