Session Fees & Frequency
Standard fee: $150 per session
I offer a sliding scale for clients with financial need. Please contact me to discuss what works for your situation.
I typically recommend weekly sessions, particularly for depth‑oriented and relational work. Meeting weekly supports continuity, emotional safety, and therapeutic momentum, allowing the work to deepen over time.
Some clients choose to meet biweekly or at another pace based on their needs, schedules, or financial considerations. We can discuss together what feels sustainable and supportive for you, and session frequency can be revisited at any point.
Services Offered
I offer individual psychotherapy sessions for adults (18+). Sessions are 50 minutes in length. I do not currently offer couples or family therapy.
In‑person sessions are held in a private office in the Village of Arroyo Grande. Free street parking and a nearby parking lot are available.
Online sessions are available to California residents and to those who prefer remote therapy.
Insurance & Payment
I am an out‑of‑network provider and do not bill insurance directly. Payment is due at the time of each session. I accept all major credit cards, as well as cash or check.
Benefits of Private Pay
Private pay allows greater flexibility in the type, frequency, and duration of therapy, without the restrictions often imposed by insurance companies. Insurance typically requires a mental health diagnosis and detailed documentation, which can limit treatment options.
By choosing private pay, your therapy remains more confidential and personalized. Insurance companies do not have access to your records.
Using Out‑of‑Network Benefits
If you have a PPO plan, I can provide a monthly superbill (a detailed receipt) for you to submit to your insurance company for potential partial reimbursement.
If you choose to seek reimbursement using a superbill, I am required to include a mental health diagnosis. Insurance companies may also request additional information or records as part of their reimbursement process. I do not release records without your written authorization unless legally required.
I recommend contacting your insurance company directly to ask about your out‑of‑network benefits, including deductibles and reimbursement rates.
